Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub - American actress, comedian and activist She was born to Jewish parents in the Soviet Union and started her career as a child actor after she moved to the United States. The appearances she made as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials from 2013 to 2016 - and since 2020 - earned her acclaim. Apart from commercial appearances, she was also a regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). Additionally, she was an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub is also the voice of Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after being selected to play the character in the unaired television pilot for New Warriors. Vayntrub is an Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) native and a Jew. Her parents, who were both two years old, immigrated to America to escape antisemitism. They settled in West Hollywood. Her family's financial difficulties resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of 5. Vayntrub briefly attended Beverly Hills High School. Following her sophomore year, she dropped out and got an GED. She continued however to earn an undergraduate degree in Arts, Communication from University of California San Diego. She was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied the art of improv comedy.
