Abigale Le Miller bio

Abigale Lee Mills (born September 21 1965) was an American dance instructor, choreographer, and reality TV host. She was the creator of the Abby Lee Dance Company, that was a part of the reality show Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller admitted guilt on June 27th, 2016, to felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced to a year and one day in federal prison, and was released on March 27 in 2018. In April 2018 she was diagnosed with lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that made her unable to walk. She is confined to a wheelchair for mobility. Miller has been a dancer since childhood in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, located in a Pittsburgh suburb. She attended classes under the guidance of her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 years old when she was asked to choreograph and the role of coach on one of her mother’s team's competition dance teams. Miller was eventually able to take over the studio in 1995 and renamed it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was recognized as a certified dancer by Dance Masters of America in 1986. She became an associate member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 in February 2012. However, her membership was terminated by the DMA in February 2012 following the DMA declared that Miller's reality TV series Dance Moms was "a complete false representation of dance educators and students and was detrimental to the profession of dance."
